DSMA December Blog Carnival - Reflection

Can't believe it's December already, doesn't seem long ago since I was writing about my plans for 2012 and what I wanted to accomplish.

It's no secret that I've struggled with my Diabetes this year. I've shied away from the DOC, the forum and I've neglected my blog because... well I just didn't care. I went through the motions of looking after myself and stuck my Diabetes further and further down my list of priorities. Which is never a good thing.

Since getting run down, breaking down and finally talking to people I'm no longer going through the motions of caring about my Diabetes. My last HbA1c went up by 0.3% which was better than I expected.. but in the grand scheme of things, not really where I wanna be. I'm now carb counting better (I don't wanna be perfect at it, just a good guesstimator) which is already giving me better results.

My meter average has gone from around 10.x to 8.8 in the past few weeks, and now I'm more focused I'm hoping to get it down further.

There's only one person responsible for me, and that's ME!
So if I'm in LaLa land then shit's gonna hit the fan :)

2012 for me meant learning a lot of lessons.

So next year Teapot Diabetic is back with a vengance - Diabetes be afraid, be very afraid!

This post is my December entry in the DSMA Blog Carnival. If you’d like to participate too, you can get all of the information at http://diabetessocmed.com/2012/december-dsma-blog-carnival-2/

Very nice article.my mom is diabetes patient.it's so important to manage her blood sugar level. In starting its so tough for us to monitor sugar level.accu chek helps us so much in this case. accu chek is the blood glucose monitoring device which has completely revolutionaries the monitoring of glucose level in the blood.

Hi Emma,

Hello from the USA Emma - I hope you don't mind Yanks on here. I am going to be honest, I actually only stumbled across this blog after originally going onto the University of Florida Social Networking Diabetes Center Blog. I am a Floridian after all, but I'm glad I did.

I want to encourage you Emma and any other readers with Diabetes, to keep fighting and not give up. Some of your writings remind me of My father-in-law who had type 1 diabetes over a year ago. Something interesting happened to him though. After judicious monitoring of his diet and physicality his HbA1c levels were making no movement downward at all. It was at this time that he began to take an all-natural blend of 5 plant extracts called Protandim. You may or may not have heard of Protandim - but it is worth looking into.

After several months of taking Protandim once daily - his HbA1c level fell so significantly that his physicians pulled him off of ALL his diabetes medication. Since then, and it has been over a year now - combining his physical regimen, balanced diet and Protandim once daily - have resulted in his HbA1c levels never being over 6.3! My thoughts and hopes go out to you and I again want to encourage you to keep fighting. Now that there are some new tools available - don't stop fighting Diabetes.

Take a look at the website next to my name/linked to my name and you can get a better view of Protandim.
